Starting Things Up

WELCOME! Today we kicked off our homeschool year with a Field Day, planned by our own Mr. Jim. The day was a success with all the kids being able to find new friends as they traveled with their group to five fun events- the Egg Race, Ball Toss, Football Throw, 50-yard Dash, and Quarter Mile run. We kept things light-hearted and announced the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places but that was it. Afterwards we ate our potluck lunch near the playground where the, again, the kids had so much fun playing. It was a great start to our great co-op thanks to the leaders and organizers, number one Pam L.! After spending just a few minutes really, talking witha few other moms in the preschool room, I realized we needed a solution for all the questions that were flying around- how to get a teaching rotation going, what to teach, etc. I think a simple blog will suffice for our needs, and is probably the quickest, easiest way to distribute up-to-date info to all our parents. What better way to keep in touch on all the planning and organizing and archiving that involves keeping a homeschool running!! I hope this blog will be helpful for all of those reasons! Come here to check on the teaching rotation and see when you're teaching next. Come here to see when your off-period is. Come here to share teaching tips, helpful websites, and resources! Come here to see photos of your cute little ones having fun at co-op! Come here and come back...soon!
